Vesala NanoSonde MPL4-33kHz length 94mm Ø 4,6 mm for use with air pressure
NanoSonde MPL4-33 is Vesala’s new, world’s tiniest active sonde for small underground ducts. It is only 4.6 mm in diameter so it is optimal for calibrating 6 mm (inner diameter) fiber optic ducts and to locate their blockages, dents and other problems. MPL4-33 is flexible in the middle so it can navigate tight duct curves down to 170 mm radius.
NOTE: No cable pull spring can be attached to the MPL-4, it must be blown through the pipe with air. (See the demo video)
MPL4-33 is intended for use with the Vesala CL43 Compact Locator and other cable tracers and pipe locators operating on the 33 kHz trace frequency, such as the Leica DD120, DD130, etc.
How to calibrate microchannels with MPL4-33
Before blowing ( Shooting the probe under air pressure through the pipe), a shock absorber of suitable size is attached to the probe. This protects the probe if it hits an obstacle. After inserting a battery, the probe is injected into the duct. If the probe passes through the canal without stopping, the canal is successfully calibrated, or empty. If the probe stops in the duct due to a blockage or kink in the pipe, it is located above ground with a cable detector. Knowing the exact location of a blockage saves a lot of time and saves unnecessary digging costs.
Technical characteristics MPL4-33
The MPL4-33 turns on and starts transmitting a detection signal when a battery is inserted and the battery cap is attached. Typical detection distance with CL43 receiver is 2.3 m. Replaceable lithium battery allows a total operating time of about 9 hours, depending on ambient temperature. MPL4-33 diameter is 4.6 mm and length with battery cap 94 mm, without shock absorber. Mounting thread for shock absorbers is M3.5 female. A shock absorber with 4.8 mm calibration head suitable for 6 mm channels is included. A 6.4 mm head for 8 mm channels is also available.
The batteries can bought in boxes off 10 pieces (OPTION) ( BR425) see Photo)
The livetime off the 3V Lithium batterie can be 6 till 9 hours.
