Leica Locator DD120 suitable for Depth measurement till 5 meters
How does the Leica DD120 determine location and depth?
The Digicat range locates buried pipes by receiving the demagnetic fields emitted by those same pipes, the intelligent software analyses the signal and gives the user an audible and visual indication of the location and direction of underground pipe work. The user can place a mark on the ground or use a GIS mapping device to communicate the location of the underground pipes to the excavation team.
Quick overview:
-Advanced digital signal processing technology(DSP)
-Automatic controls - make the DD120 easy to use, with minimal training
-Starting in Power mode detects the most dangerous pipes first
-Safe area shows buried pipes that are very shallow (within 30cm) in Power and 8.33kHz mode and gives an alarm due to increased risk
-Built-in test function for hardware and software
-LCD display with built-in light sensor, which automatically switches on the backlight in the dark
-Robust, lightweight design specially designed for harsh field conditions
-Maintenance indicator to support maintenance schedules and quality systems; displays a wrench icon every 12 months
The Leica DD120 cable locator has multiple ( 6 pcs) operation modes, giving the user maximum control over the device.
Functions
Auto mode
Automatically locates power and radio signals, confirming the presence of pipes on an initial field search and making pipe location safe.
Transmit mode
Traces signals from distant transmitters that penetrate the ground and are scattered by underground pipes, ideal for locating telephone cables and cables with other types of signals. the detector will pick up signals between 15 Khz and 60 Khz
Power mode (Standard mode)
Locates power signals transmitted by cables that are powered. The cables that are powered generate a magnetic field around the cable that we can detect with the detector.
Signal Generator Modes
(8 or 33 kHz) to be used in conjunction with Digitex DA220 or DA230
Locates the specific 8 or 33 kHz signal sent into the ground by the DA signal transmitter which in turn generates a magnetic field around the cable or pipe that the Digitex (DA) is placed near or above, allowing us to trace this signal with the cable detector.
Depth indication mode
The Leica Digicat DD120, DD130, DD220 and DD230 have a depth reading that is only possible in combination with a DA220 or DA230 signal generator to a maximum depth of 7 meters. This depth measurement is extremely accurate and has a maximum deviation of a few percent.
Localisation of conductive cables.
Logbook function
User-friendly with automatic settings.
Starts in power mode, which is the first to recognise cables carrying hazardous voltages.
Integrated test function to prevent errors.
