Formwork sheet, Marking sheet 1400 for marking Mould point
Suppose a storey floor is poured entirely in situ, there is the option of applying mouling points on the (wooden) floor formwork as well (figure). This is done by sighting an alignment plate above a sawn opening in the contact formwork in relation to a plumb line erected from the mou point on the floor below. The setting plate is nailed to the formwork slab and can then be used as a moulding point, exactly as it can be done on the underlying concrete floor. Measuring with measuring tape and wire goes perfectly, only setting up a theodolite or Total Station will be problematic due to the lack of 'firmness'. What is possible, of course, is to set up a Total Station in a stable position above concrete walls (shaft walls) or on a substantial column head, and to use the sleeve points for the Total Station's free position measurement. This solution is considered particularly attractive in the case of 'round buildings', as it allows the Total Station to be accurately positioned even at the formwork level for installations (feed-throughs, central boxes, bag pipes, pipe traces) or floor terminations, floor openings and anchors and plugs to be cast in. Clearly, after the floor has been stripped, the layout plates are recovered, cleaned and reused.
